Stretch Marks Solution

-for Women

My last article covered the causes of stretch marks and why so many women get them. As you may recall, the cosmetic treatments for this type of scarring are expensive, painful and not always effective. This article covers a nutraceutical solution that may be effective.

Nutraceutical is a broad term that refers to all types of nourishing extracts and compounds. Many of them are derived from plants. In addition to being nourishing, they have some type of medicinal activity or are accompanied by a specific health benefit.

The skin, like every other organ of the body, needs nourishment. Nutrients are needed to replace aged and damaged skin cells. Amino acids and vitamins are needed to produce new collagen and elastin fibers. Some of the ingredients mentioned below may help to prevent stretch marks by limiting the activity of the glucocorticoid hormones that inhibit the formation of new collagen and elastin fibers.

Once you have stretch marks, you want to get rid of them. No woman likes the way that they look. Research has shown that creams containing nutraceuticals can help diminish stretch marks, scars and even wrinkles by stimulating the skin’s natural rejuvenation processes.

Assuming the stretch marks are on your stomach or breast, what you want is a nourishing body lotion. Here are the ingredients the lotion should contain.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil has a moisturizing effect but does not cause a greasy feeling. The neutral scent makes it easy to use. You can use it regardless of your skin type. It does not clog the pores and is hypoallergenic. It feels great going on and leaves the skin feeling soft and velvety. Jojoba is one of the nourishing ingredients known to reduce stretch marks.

Grape Seed Oil

Grape seed oil is another. It is very similar to jojoba in the way that it feels and in the ways that it improves your skin. It also contains a variety of antioxidants that are similar in activity to the prescription retinoid creams that doctors sometimes prescribe for stretch marks.

D-Panthenol is one of the ingredients that have been investigated for their benefits in preventing stretch marks. It is also known as vitamin B5 and is involved in skin tissue repair. As you may recall, it is the tissues and fibers in the skin’s dermis layer that are torn. D-Panthenol may help to repair the cells.

Xtend-TK was actually developed as an anti-aging ingredient. Using creams that contain the ingredient conveys a variety of skin benefits that can be helpful for reducing stretch marks. First, the ingredient stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin fibers. The new fibers may replace old ones that were damaged by the stretching. The ingredient also improves the skin’s moisture content and stimulates skin rejuvenation.

While any one of these ingredients might provide some benefit, all of them can work together to provide a “big” benefit. If stretch marks are a big problem for you, look for a body lotion that contains them all.
